An artistic movement that developed in Europe during the first half of the 19th century as a reaction against clacissism, whose ideals, Greco-Roman themes and, above all, intention it challenged. Romanticism was concerned above all with the emotions felt, the expression of states of mind and the flowering of the imagination.
